These are some pictures taken during my clinical experience at Forest City Middle School.
Reading in small groups is beneficial to both the students and me. In this specific class, the students and I took turns reading The Outsiders–‘popcorn reading’–each taking a page. This gave me the opportunity to model, but also allowed the students to follow along and be engaged.

I found myself the most connected with students when I was able to work one-on-one in a close setting. Being able to tutor in this fashion helped the students to gain a deeper understanding, and taught me how to accommodate for different levels of student learning.
