About

Hello! My name is Marisa Donnelly (B.S. Secondary English Education, B.A. English, B.A. Creative Writing, and M.Ed. expected Spring 2021) and I’m the founder and face of Donnelly’s Daily Apple — a website, educational resource platform, and collaborative network for teachers, home school programs, and parents.

Over the past decade, I have taught in classrooms in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; suburban Chicago, Illinois; rural Northern Iowa; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Southern California. I’ve worked with students from age three to eighty-three and across a spectrum of learning challenges, including ADD/ADHD, autism, auditory processing disorder, dyslexia/dyscalculia, speech apraxia, sensory-motor impairments, and more.

I am also the founder & CEO of Be A Light Collective (est. 2018), a virtual and San Diego-based writing/editing and tutoring services business with an emphasis on individualized, relationship-focused educational experiences. I created these platforms because I am fiercely dedicated to building learning experiences and programs that are student-centered and continually growing to meet the needs of the ever-changing educational climate, especially for students who struggle to learn traditional classroom settings.

With the impact of COVID-19, many of my programs are shifting to virtual, with the exception of a small cohort 5-6th grade program for the 2020-2021 academic school year (based in San Diego). This program is open for enrollment until August 15, 2020. Learn more here!

My goal is that this platform and website can be a resource for you. Feel free to browse, learn, collaborate, and contact me with any questions, enrollment inquiries, or potential opportunities.
