One of my very first education classes at Waldorf emphasized lesson plans–a huge component of not only my college career, but my professional teaching career as well.
I started my lesson plan designing with this simple template that allows the teacher to organize information for a unit/topic/class period by goals, objectives, review, and check for understanding during and after the lesson. This format is highly specific, with options for teachers to have an anticipatory set, or a preview activity to start the lesson, as well as options for relating learning to previous lessons or integrating new topics. I find that I still use this template, even as a senior when I’m looking to dig deep into my lesson planning.
