Summer Enrichment Camp (Grades 5-7)

Description

Students learn best when they are engaged and involved in their learning. At Donnelly’s Daily Apple, that is our core philosophy, exemplified through our homeschool programs, tutoring services, and daily practice! As such, we believe that continuing learning throughout the summer months does nothing but positives for our learners (regardless of age, level, or academic strengths/concerns!) And this is why we’re passionate about offering Summer Enrichment, summer camps, and other educational offers.

Let’s face it — we’ve all heard the negative educational research and ‘summer slide’ statistics, claiming that students can potentially have up to a 25% loss of school-year learning over the summer. Yikes! However, we don’t believe in focusing on the negatives. Instead, we believe in creating positives for our learners to grow, succeed, and have fun every step of the way!

What Is Summer Enrichment Camp?

Summer Enrichment Camp (SEC) is engaging weekly sessions to build upon learning from the school year and prepare students for the next grade level (while having FUN!)

• Project-based Math/STEM lessons and ELA/Reading activities
• ‘Camp-like’ feel where FUN learning is a priority!
• Opportunity to keep kids engaged in their education without it feeling like ‘school.’
• Socialization with friends!

Tentative Topics:

• Fractions + Figurative Language
• Linear Equations + Literature
• Expressions + Expository Writing
• Ratios + Reader’s Theatre
• Decimals/Percents + Persuasion
• Statistics + Storytelling
• Number System + Narrative Writing
• Equations + Expressive Language

Pricing: $150 per week / $550 per month
