For this strategy, students are encouraged to write as if writing for the yearbook.
I think that this is a great strategy because it helps students to enjoy writing. They can feel that they are writing for a purpose, but also for fun. I like that students get involved in writing that is first-person/reflection-like as well as academic. Too often in life students will be writing essays—this writing will be academic without being dry.
